Biography

Culann McCarthy is a Dublin-based actor and graduate of Bow Street Academy’s full-time screen acting programme (2023-2024). Recent screen credits include I’m Yours (RTÉ Storyland, 2024), directed by Laura O’Shea

On stage, Culann has appeared as Lucentio in The Taming of the Shrew (Sylvan Theatre, 2023), Lewis in Ribbons (The Mill Theatre, 2023), and Ray Dooley in The Beauty Queen of Leenane (The Mill Theatre, 2023). Other notable performances include BROS (Number 4, directed by Romeo Castellucci, The O’Reilly Theatre, 2022) and two seasons with Improv She Wrote (2021-2022).

Culann has experience with ADR and Loop Groups, most recently in the Hallmark film Tis The Season to be Irish. They also have experience with Green Screen, having worked with Director Duncan Campbell on a proof of concept last year. Culann has a good ear for impressions and accents with additional skills in improv, stage combat, and is a qualified sailing instructor.
