Biography

Owen is a character actor with a wealth of experience in his 30 year career.

He has recently performed a successful run in London, The Laughing Boy in the ICC, Hammersmith. It had two runs at the New Theatre in 2022.

Film credits include: Into the West Dir: Mike Newell, On the Nose Dir: David Caffrey, Mystics Dir: David Blair, Angela's Ashes and The Commitments both directed by Alan Parker. Television credits include: The Clinic, Pinned, and Fear of the Dark (RTE), Vicious Circle, Rebelheart (BBC), The Real Shergar (Channel 4) Sceal na Rialta (TG4) and numerous episodes in RTE's Fair City. Stage include performing in Shakespeare's, Othello, Hamlet and King Lear.

He toured Wales with The Playboy of the Western World.

He has a keen interest in performing/writing and directing, He wrote and directed his short film The Lion’s Share based on his bursary winning stageplay.

He has also collaborated with community based drama groups both in Dublin and Belfast.
